I'm trying to copy some old videos to DVD and edit out the junk. I've used a Sony DVD recorder to get the basic DVD, ripped that onto the PC and tried using Power Producer to edit it. The video editing is fine but the end result has no sound. Power Cinema, Windows Media Player, etc. all give me sound but they don't allow editing.
I tried experimenting with a demux program, extracted the sound track and played it OK though I would not want to continue down that route as a long term option.
Someone on another thread (DaveW) suggested it might be a codec problem but, being a bit new to this, I don't know how to work out which one I need.
Has anyone seen similar problems and could point me in the right direction.
