Define..'playback device' 

Hi Fergie, I was looking for a camera of sorts that will let me playback 8MM video tapes.

I have a few i want to copy to DVD. It wouldn't have to be an expensive camcorder, just something that would let me make the copies to DVD.
I just bought a camera from ebay but I didn't think to ask the seller did it come with a power adapter and of course it didn't.
When I get a chance I'm going to Maplin to see what they have.

Would the camera you bought off Ebay be a Sony DCR-TRV110E or similar model by any chance,

If it is the same I have a mains power pack for models round that period, you are welcome to have it for the cost of postage.

The camera I bought from ebay is an Hitachi VM-E368E. I would imagine the spare power adapter you have will not fit it :(
That's a pity. I'm still looking for one but no luck yet.

No, I'm afraid the mains power pack is only for the Sony, sorry about that as it won't fit.

its a Minolta movie editor 8mm 
i also have Imperial eumig p8 camera 
i haven't decided on the price yet. Was just wondering if those models would interest you at all? 
I would sell it for a competively good price that is fair too.

Tony, I Googled  amazon hitachi VM-E368E and there is something available. It might be worth a look to check if it is what you are looking for.  Tony C.
