Last weekend my hard worked, 10 year old Velbon tripod suffered a fractured leg locking lever. I contacted Velbon on Monday morning in the hope that they still had spares and this morning (Wednesday) without anything else being said, the spare landed up in the post with a 'with compliments' slip. What can I say, absolutely brilliant service.

Yup - good companies do tend to do this.

It's actually cheaper for them to send out a small spare free of charge, than to go through all the hassle of raising an invoice, sorting out payment, etc.  And it has the bonus of keepin a customer and raising their reputation.

yes, NAD amps sent me a load of buttons when one popped off FOC

however, Brabancia charged me £5 plus post when I lost the "keep it crispy" bit from a biscuit tin. Cheapskates
