It can capture a QUARTER AvI at 384x288 but you have no choice other than full size AVI TYPE 1. Those specs are for VCD so were you wondering if you can cap in VCD format direct? If so you have to remember that the AVM does NOT cap in MPEG it caps in AVI so you would always have to render it to vcd or svcd format!

Thanks very much for your response. My interest is in capturing with avmaster codec (mjpeg) with less resolution than 768x576 because I want to pass mu vhs tapes to vcd. I know the format is different but I will do the next thing.

First capturing at 388x288 in mjpeg (video file will be smaller than in 768x576). Then I will convert that file with Canopus Procoder to MPEG1 at 352x288. I wanted to know if avmaster can capture at quarter size because vhs format hasn't a resolution of 768 x 576. Exactly vhs complains 388x288.

Thanks again and if you think I must know something more please tell me.

It does not matter what resolution you capture in because when you encode it to VCD it will be changed anyway.

The quarter size will not be quite as good quality as capturing at full resolution but may be slightly quicker to render it to vcd.

I capture at full size and then I use TMPG to render it to VCD specs.
