Comp ink

Two things have happened.
Couple of weeks ago, I updated the driver for my Epson PX730W printer.

I ordered a fresh supply of Jet Tec ink. My printer has always been very very happy with Jet Tec inks but suddenly it was absolutely refusing to recognise some of the cartridges. I then discovered that the cartridges were now discribed as being 'recycled' and the printed circuits on the cartridges were different from my last order.
So it looks like it's goodby to Jet Tec.

Would anyone care to recommend a good compatible ink manufacturer.

Cheers.

Hi Robert

Some time ago Epson's printer drivers were written so that they would only accept Epson cartridges.  Your new printer driver might be the cause of the problem.  I never upgraded the drivers for my (now scrapped) Epson printers for this reason and have not done so for my two Canon printers just in case.  Try rolling back to your old driver.  Give our regards to the good lady and hope to phone later.

Re: Comp ink

Hi Harry.

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing with the disc that came with it.
I've also opened the maintenance menu and tried resetting the printer to 'factory' settings.
Don't know what else I can do.
A couple of the cartridges will soon need renewing so I will see if things have returned to normal.

Hope all is well with you.

Cheers.

So far I've not been disappointed with 321 ink. Find them good on price too. At least for my Canon. I think this might be your printer.

Hi Robert, I use 7dayshop compatibles in my Canon and they are good.  You could try a system restore to the point before you updated the drivers.

Checkout Refresh Cartridges I find them excellent as well as local to me but they also supply via the net, worth a try!

Thanks guys.

Tony.  Not sure of the date I upgraded the printers driver, but,  My laptop has a wireless connection to the printer so I could try working through that.

OR..would the updated driver be installed in the computer or the printer. ??

Cheers.

In the computer I think Robert....... If you type system restore in the start menu you can tick a box which will display all the restore points and the alterations made to the system at each point.  hth.
