Hi Colin

I ordered a couple of mic windshields from them last week. Received an email today that one had been sent the other tomorrow, invoice included in the email. Will keep you posted that all is in order. I suspect you can foresee problems!!

Hi Geoff.
Thanks for that. I am wary, some of there prices seem to good to be true, ie EX1 + 1 8gb SxS card, 1 year warranty £4485 inc VAT. Dont have a problem with the price, its just reassuring to have some positive feedback. They do state on their website that they are "authorised Sony resellers", and they have an address and phone number.
BTW how is the FX1 performing?
Tony7, thanks for that.

no problems at all with the FX1 - its being used as a 3rd camera so not having the hardest of life, but excellent camera for the purpose and never missed a beat.

Is this you splashing out again? more toys for boys, what a life this is!

I postponed buying an EX1, due to the massive price increases over the last 6 months. I hire them in, as and when needed, but work load is now dictating a purchase. The price at Digi Broadcast is about where it was last summer. Hiring is fine at about £175 (Friday midday to Monday), delivered and picked up. I work it so I can shoot a wedding on the saturday, and promo/web update generally at a holiday/theme park on the Sunday. But all those £175s cut into the profit. Glad the FX1 is giving you good service.

I've bought from Visual Impact in Teddington a few times visuals.co.uk, they are very competitive and I've found them generally helpful, including their engineering dept talking me through a tape jam problem on my dsr 450 on the morning of a shoot miles from base.

Dishonest liars!

I should have received a Swit monitor from them today but nothing.

Will be on to HSBC tomorrow for a refund and hopefully a ban on this crummy outfit being allowed access to card payers.

Ron, can you let us know who you're angry with, it isn't clear from your posting.

Get my test cards document, and cards for 625, 525, 720 and 1080. Thanks to Gavin Gration for hosting them.

"Digi Broadcast" Alan. Exacerbated when I posted by my staying in all day awaiting the non-existent courier.

Hi Colin

Don't forget the up side of hire fees is that they are tax deductible as opposed to buying a camera that is only deductible to a certain point/period/level.

So you may feel it's eating into your profit but it can even out via tax returns.

What's to become of us.... What is to become of us?

Hi Peter.
I did buy an EX1, last May, from H Preston. I just felt more comfortable dealing with a well known company. Wonderful camera, now up for sale due to my semi retirement

I've got to bite my lips and hold back my anger . Having had at least three, erroneous promises from Digi Broadcast that my monitor was en route, and having stayed in on Friday and then on Monday, I was today finally given a tracking number for the consignment which was, at last, in the hands of their courier company, "Interlink Express" and "should be with me today".

Nowt! Another day or half a day wasted. The Interllnk web-site states that my parcel arrived at Preston (sigh!!!!) on Sunday but nothing about yet being in transit.
They've had it now for two days and Preston is 15 miles, half an hour, from where I live.

I remember now I've had problems before with Interlink but what can you so? Presumably there is some cosy arrangement between certain management at the vendor and the courier which not dependant on performance.

OK Ron - you've set me off on one!

Today we had a courier complaining that our delivery was addressed to a different company further down the road from us.

His gadget did indeed state Manchester Video Limited (followed by the totally incorrect address).

The consignment however was (as usual) clearly labelled and correctly addressed (our address was also visible on del. note stuck to one of the boxes).

The driver seemed to think he was doing me a favour by "finding us".....

I refuse to believe parcel firms have the intelligence required to collude in any plot. Ever.

The 1kg parcel has been at Interlink Preston since Sunday, "Next Day Delivery". Their web site tracking info has ratcheted forward a slot today by containing the words: "Due To Go Out On Delivery".
Why "due" rather than "out" I dinna ken. Means another day in waiting.
I much prefer Royal Mail Parcel Force which of course pricier but would like to have the option.
No one is perfect though as Parcel Force have "delivered" here in past via a "knock" on the front door (we have a prominent bell push) and a card through the letter box before anyone has had a chance to get to the door. At least they have local depots to go and collect from.

At least I never have a problem missing a delivery when I'm in.

My two hairy great mutts (complaints department and security) go into barking overdrive if anyone so much as comes near our front door.

Hard to believe this but the Interlink website this morning tells me that my parcel has travelled to their "Liverpool Wallasey" depot (actually in Liverpool) overnight VIA BIRMINGHAM!

I live in Southport, more or less half way between Preston and Liverpool. They can shift it on a 200 journey but still not travel 15 miles to my house, and presumably there are other delayed Southport consignments to deliver.

Effin shambles!

"Out for delivery" from Interlink Liverpool, which a relief.

I've been a bit unfair on Digi Broadcast who after some over optimistic promises have been doing their best, and have been stuffed by their courier company(s), as apparently not just Interlink who have let them down of late.

Given the substantial price saving on this item compared with what I would have had to pay elsewhere, and Digi Broadcast do seem cheaper on a lot of items, I WOULD recommend them subject to realistic info about delivery times and a choice of delivery method,

Ron

ps I haven't of course had a look at the new monitor yet!

Delivered on time. The Interlink Liverpool driver, who said they're busy but coping, reckoned that the problem with Preston was their use of self employed van owners who pick and choose where they want to deliver. Liverpool drivers are employees who get told where to go.

Southport has "PR" postcodes which are Preston, whereas we are part of the county of "Merseyside", and economically and culturally much closer to Liverpool than Pressers.

Well pleased with my new SWIT monitor which 10% cheaper than elsewhere, and every 50 quid helps.

These two posts seem to be his only contribution to the forums.

I have PM'd him to let him know what I have done and asked him to  PM me if he thinks they should be reinstated, with an explanation of why he believes they are valid and what his relationship is or was with the company.

I've got to say my one experience of a purchase from Digi-Broadcast started off poorly but finished satisfactorily. Problem turned out to be poor courier service. Stuff, Swit Monitor, was brand new and has continues to perform well.

Re: Digi Broadcast

Hi all,

Hope you're able to help! I purchased the Sony FS7 today, shortly before they closed - I felt happy with spending the £7000 for the camera and the essentials after researching their company code etc, and asking one of my friends who had used them with a good experience in the past. I spoke directly to one of the sales team - I've noticed that the money has been taken from my bank account - but as of yet I have not received an invoice, receipt or email regarding the confirmation of the order? I'm feeling a bit nervous at the fact they have a relatively large sum of money and I have nothing to show! I know that I only ordered it around 2 hours ago but I'm just wanting some indication of my purchase; as it's by far the largest amount of money I've ever spent! Any ideas or advice at this point is greatly appreciated!
Thanks all!

Update on my previous post - Digi Broadcast sorted it out quickly - their service is impeccable, very personal yet professional. I'll update once my FS7 arrives!

Re: Digi Broadcast

Two weeks ago I got an e-mail with a promotion for a secondhand camcorder body of a sony F5, sold separately as advertised in their stock list. When I wanted to buy the camcorder I got the message that they didn't want to sell it without the extra optional viewfinder for around 2000 pounds extra on the advertised price. I really didn't need a viewfinder because I have lots of viewfinders and monitors from my other cameras. I just wanted an extra F5 body so no deal for me. The sales woman tried to sell me some other equipment but I was only interested in an F5. A couple of days later I get an unasked and unwanted marketing E-mail about a "last chance" to buy a F5 package and if not sold within a period the items would be seperated and sold to suppliers companies, so again a separate F5 body. I answer that I tried to buy a separate body from them only last week and I don't want to receive this unwanted e-mail because I already bought a body somewhere else. I get the following message from the sales woman: I sold the body separately anyway, I just didn't want to sell it to you! WTF! Do salesmen of today still have brains? For me a sales department should always stay diplomatic and polite, not that I will ever buy anything from them after this first experience... Better go with CVP, never had any issues with them.....

Re: Digi Broadcast

I've been dealing with Digibroadcast for the last 5 years and have spent quite a bit of money with them. At first I used to come and collect my orders, but now I just order it online. They have very good prices. smiley Last item I ordered was Sony FS5 package which was delivered just on time as I had ordered it last minute. Haven't had any issues with FS5. I got a few projects offered which has kept me very busy. Show me the money! £££££
