Must say I am still on the camcorders. Did have a GH2 for a while but I just didn't like it at all. Recently moved over to an X70, AX100, CX900 combo and really enjoying it. Have used DSLR in the past for a property gig I was freelancing on but I just find a DSLR too fiddly for a wedding shoot, especially as I'm a solo shooter most of the time.
Still using camcorder for service and speeches but dslr for everything else. I don't bother with sliders or steadycam, don't have the time as a solo shooter and in any case, I find they constrict what you shoot to looking just like everyone else's - once you've seen one you've seen them all.

That's interesting. I was considering doing the same. I did have an RX10 which has the same sensor as the X70 and the rest but a very different feel to the picture. Used it to shoot preps and post ceremony stuff but relegated it to a third cam for the ceremony and speeches. Has a constant f2.8 aperture which is a bonus. Ended up going back to the vid cams though as the viewfinder and LCD screen were hard to trust.
Which combo of cams are you using Robo?
I bought a GH4 and would love to use it as a main camera but dont trust myself with it just yet, I've used it at weddings but only when I covered everything else.
Hi Jon, Panasonic AG160 with Canon 600d. I've also got a very handy Canon Legria and Gopro for 2nd / 3rd cam shots. DSLR has Tamron 17 - 50 2.8 as main lens with a loop on the side screen so my aging sight can see what's going on :) Have to use correction in post to get it all to match but I've now got pre sets set up which cover most situations. The side screen on the 600D is a godsend, why the hell didn't Canon didn't put one on the full frame bodies ? Brilliant for ground level and over the head shots.
