Although a previous posting gave details of recovery I have not been able to reinstall the lost panels

(1) The Library with all the templates and chapters.

The drop-down menu has "General"only. Alternatives are missing. All template displays with chapters are missing.

Beneath the Project panel the computer drives were displayed. They are now missing.

When this computer arrived it had Premiere Pro and Encore CS5 installed..

A Premiere Pro CS5 installation disc and an Encore CS5 disc were supplied.

Upgrade to Premiere Pro CS6 was a single disc. I was told Encore CS5 was unchanged for CS6.

I would appreciate help to find the lost panels.

Yes Mark. Can you tell me where it was please. It was much easier to get the library then.

Re: Missing Panels in Premiere Pro CS6 Encore display
Les,

As people keep telling you, Encore CS6 IS NOT LIKE Encore CS5, whatever you were told.

The so-called "functional content" is no longer included with either the boxed DVD version, or the electronic download version, of Premiere CS6, even though Encore is still included with both.  With earlier versions of Premiere, this functional content was provided on the second DVD, and was installed along with Premiere/Encore.  Nowadays you get only one DVD, and there is no room for the functional content.

Nowadays you have to download the library and templates (i.e. the functional content) from the Adobe web site.

Adobe provide two alternative for this which is confusing.  One is the one  you will find if you follow Mark's link.  The other is the one that I directed you to in one of your other threads.

All that you have to do is download the huge files, and follow the instructions precisely and you will have all your menu, button, etc., templates as before.  Indeed, you will have far more than ever before.

I have no recollection of the computer drives ever appearing in the Encore GUI. I think that you are mistaken there.

Re: Missing Panels in Premiere Pro CS6 Encore display
Many thanks Mark and Alan for these postings. May I please explain?

This  CS6 is an upgrade from CS5.0.3. There was one disc supplied  for CS6 and two discs for CS5.

Looking at the CS5 discs; Encore is mentioned a number of times. I cannot see where the Library (Templates & Chapters) is located in that list.

My thinking was an install could be from that disc.

When using CS5 I had that same problem; loss of this library. I thought Mark posted the solution which was installed easily - although it was given listed as CS6.

I cannot remember how this was done. That explains the question I posted for Mark. It was very easy to install. All Encore was deleted when CS6 was installed - then Encore reinstalled.

I have one edit under way in Premiere also two completed projects. The latter two projects are now in Encore where one chapter is required for each.

Both can then be burnt to one disc but each can be selected and played individually. I have yet to find how to do this - but the Library is required for chapters and template.

My fear is that all this work will be lost causing all to be edited again if I proceed wrongly. I hope this explains my caution.

Re: Missing Panels in Premiere Pro CS6 Encore display
Les,

You would be very ill-advised to attempt to install the missing Encore CS6 templates from a CS5 disc.  The only possible way is to use one or other of the two methods that Mark and I have pointed you at.

The advantage of Mark's reference is that you also get the Premiere title templates that Adobe have very kindly left out of the supplied installation files for Premiere CS6.  The downside is that it is considerably more complicated than the other route.

As far as your other problem goes, the two Premiere projects that you have in your Encore project must each be on a separate timeline in Encore.  I would export each Premiere project timeline as a DVD legal mpeg, and then import these two into Encore as timelines.

To play them separately you need a menu.  That menu needs two buttons "Play Project 1" and "Play Project 2".  Link each timeline to its appropriate button.  Make the End Action of each timeline "Return to Last Menu".

If you do not wish to play individual sections of either timeline on their own, you do not need any additional chapters.  So that is it, done and dusted.

As you say, you need the library for this - that, or you will have to create your own buttons and menus in Photoshop, which is a daunting task at first.

There is no possibility that installing the Encore library will upset your existing Premiere projects.

It is equally unlikely that installing the Encore library will upset your partly completed Encore project.  In any case, you have no alternative - without the library you cannot complete your project.

My last word on this is to wish you good luck in your endeavours.  I feel that you are going to need it.

I am now going to revert to my long-term silent mode on the forum.

I am extremely sorry that you are going into "silent mode". Alan

It may be some consolation that all you have posted is now printed out for use.

I will also observe silent mode until the of November.

I hope you will then care to observe the results even though silent

Thank you for all your postings. I wish you well in your retirement as that appears to be your wish.

I am sure that I, and many more, will miss you and your valued advice.

Thank you Alan.

Re: Missing Panels in Premiere Pro CS6 Encore display
By trying to restore "LIBRARY" in ENCORE CS6 both Alan's and Mark's suggestions were used.

The nine headings for template types now display in the Encore library drop-down list.

Location - the Premiere CS6 installation disc under "functional content".

Also located were the rest of the details.

Nine folders containing these items reside on the desktop.

How are these transferred to the correct place for use in the Encore Library panel please?

Open My Computer,

Locate the HD where Adobe Encore is installed,  Usually "C" Drive

In Program Files Click Adobe/Adobe Encore CS6 and in this folder there should be a list of all the files.

Copy the Library File from where ever you unzipped it and paste into the Adobe Encore folder above

Do the same for the other files

Just did the same for my copy yesterday.  IMHO Adobe is being miserable not supplying an additional DVD with these files on it which would only cost about 20P

Now with a PC Specialist Quad Core i7-3770, 16GB RAM, 180GB SSD, GeForce GTX560 Ti Graphics Card, Blu-Ray & DVD R/W Burners and can't wait to set it up. Now up and running.  What a difference in Blu-Ray footage.

Mark:

I downloaded your link using a computer with XP home O/S. That produced completely different web pages - nothing at all concerning video or editing.

Your link now downloaded on Windows 7 edit computer has produced your intended result, Thank you.. I hope this explains why no results were forthcomng.
