Can anyone recommend a new motherboard for a DV Master? Fast's site seems to be a bit vague on the subject, unlike Matrox and Canopus.
I am currently using a GA-BXDS, and it's working fine, but I would like something faster and the fastest CPUs that would work with my present board seem to be getting a bit hard to find. Any info at all gratefully considered. I have NT4, so a dual CPU board would be a possibility.

Hi, I looked at dual processor boards and the Intel ones had no AGP at the time. Current ones seem to have video, sound and network all built in. Unless there is new software for DVMaster (I'm on 1.7) the card prefers no sound card present, is picky on graphics cards (Fast wouldn't even tell me what worked with the card) and on installation order. My last trial of video import ended up with my IBM 10K 9Gb drive breaking. Since then I have also had my IBM 36Gb 10K drive break down (during back up). It really put me off working on it. I have had the card two years and have a fear of another loosing another system to it's crashing. I had frequent blue screens, and at that time I had an LS120 and no 3.5" drive, so couldn't even rebuilt NT4. That took weeks of week-ends to sort out. My conclusion is that it is saver to have a separate system for DVMaster than the one with other work and material on it.
Part of my 2 year delay in using it has been FUD and the fact that it took awhile to afford the 36Gb drive (and it's under warrentry replacment), then the Sony PC100 with iLink and a Digital 8 deck with iLink and I have now 5x9Gb and 1x18Gb to add. I now have the hardware and hope to get started on editing the last 10 years of Hi8 and 5 years of DVC footage.
My motherboard is an Intel Seattle with a 550 Pentium III and 2x256Mb 133MHz RAM, Intel 100/10 Ethernet, Adaptec 2940U2W, 22" screen, Wacom A4 tablet, with Jaz, DVD-RAM and Maxoptical drives.
Is there any more recent drivers than 1.7?
Any further information of making the best use of the DV Master would be useful.
Thanks
Gerald
