No more audio with AvMaster

No audio with AvMaster

I have problems to capture audio with AvMaster.
No conflicts with others devices, IRQ correct, if I try to capure audio with other software is ok.
When I try to use AvMaster it says: "Error, it is impossible to open input wave device. Control dimension, frequency and channels."
So the output is a file with PCM 11.025Hz 8 bit, mono.

I used AvMaster for five years without problems, and now???

System: win98 se
athlon 1600

When you goto CONTROL PANEL then MULTIMEDIA what does it say under RECORDING is it set for AV MASTER and in ADVANCED PROPERTIES is sample rate set to BEST.

Is "use only preferred devices" UNCHECKED

The only other thing I can suggest is an uninstall-reinstall of drivers & software in the hope that a file has got corrupted. Otherwise it looks like a hardware failure.

Short of replacing the card it may take a complete reinstall of win98se to really see for sure that the card is ok or not and if it is broken buy one cheap from the SMALL ADS for about £50-75.
