I have had an enormous amount of help from this site and would appreciate even more now please..

Virus protection is Microsoft Essentials. A Full scan exposed a problem and was deleted.

Since then I have been unable to visit  any wanted web sites..

The cause has been interference. A small dialog screen presents a dialog box informing of a virus.

Next:: A full page screen "Windows 7 Repair" - headed with Microsoft Logos.

The only way to delete this is  shut the computer down.

AlI wanted pages are smothered by the above screen heading including Google.

Suggestions please HOW this can be irradiated without a Windows 7 re-install please?

Re: Please help

Hi Les

Try this programme

https://www.malwarebytes.org/

It is safe and it's free unless you want to buy the upgrade, which I did. Also led to believe that MS Essensials is not worth using so try some other anti-virus like Kaspersky.  Hope you are well.

Now with a PC Specialist Quad Core i7-3770, 16GB RAM, 180GB SSD, GeForce GTX560 Ti Graphics Card, Blu-Ray & DVD R/W Burners and can't wait to set it up. Now up and running.  What a difference in Blu-Ray footage.

Another vote for https://www.malwarebytes.org/

Microsoft Security Essentials (Defender in 8.1/10) is fine for most users as long as Windows Updates are kept up to date with an occasional run of Malwarebytes

If you frequent potentially dodgy sites or are inclined to click on suspect software before thing you will need better virus/malware protection.

Re: Please help

You may need to read up about starting your computer in Safe Mode, also how to use the Task Manager and MS Config to kill rogue processes and stop them starting up
