I've bought by mistake some JVC Blu ray discs, I bought them because they are Taiyo Yuden but didn't notice they aren't supposed to be ink jet printable, they are however white, but a shiny surface, does anyone think it's worth trying? or better still have done it themselves?
Mick
You have a 50:50 chance of success. I'd try it.
TY BD-R discs are LTH type - (Low to High) - just be aware of that if you have playback issues with older players. A firmware update can usually (but not always) sort things out.
Mick, I think Gavin is being generous. I inadvertently printed some non-inkjet DVD's and the result was terrible. Could wipe the ink off with your finger. Might work if a sealing spray was used. Get someone who has some artistic writing skills. (probably find them at the Primary School as kids are taught to write & print very nicely :D )

AFAIK TY don't make "white-tops" - they are more than likely I/J printable.
Where did you get those TY JVC Blu-ray discs, Mick?
Quick search reveals JVC branded TY white-tops are available - if that's what you have then don't print them.
I have experimented with non printable DVDs and although Harry is right about being wet for a long time I found that if left for a while and then cleaned with a damp cloth then the image is there albeit rather pale. No good for any critical use but better than trying to read what I used to scribble with a marker.
Where did you get those TY JVC Blu-ray discs, Mick?
