I was wondering if anyone is willing to help me?
I was videotaping with my SONY DCR - VX1000 camcorder. I inserted a mini DV tape which had some recording. I rewinded the tape back to the beginning which had some recording in it. Then, I recorded the tape overriding the previous recording. At that time, there was about 55 minutes left on the mini DV tape. I used the camcorder outside on a sunny day. I also had a wireless microphone attached to the SONY DCR - VX1000. Then, to save battery whenever I am not using it during the day, I would take the battery out. Whenever I am not using it, I would turn the camcorder off with the tape inside. It was the end of the day and the battery was still inside. I went into my room and took out the battery. I plugged in the power supply into the SONY DCR - VX1000 and when the tape finished running, then all the sudden, the camcorder told me to eject the tape showing the blinking eject sign. I don't know if it is the camcorder itself or the tape having issues? Can someone help me please?
Ok, I'm intrigued - So, what happended when you did press eject?
Well, It ejected properly. The tape I used in this situation was almost a blank one.
Isn 't that what happens when a tape reaches the end, a flashing eject tape symbol is on the screen? Provided the VX1000 (now there's some long gone memories) records, ejects and can be viewed on playback I wouldn't worry. BTW don't leave the tape in the cam if you are not going to be using it for a considerable time.

The tape did not reach the end. The last time I used the tape before the camcorder told me to eject the tape had about 10 mins left in the tape.
There may be a problem with the moisture sensor giving a false signal. In the 1990s I had older Hi8 cams (TR705E and TR707E) die as a result of failure of this device. The VX1000(E) is a mid '90s cam, so it might use a similar sensor to the Hi8 cams of that era.
