Hi.. I am completely new to this computer video stuff.. could one of you experts advise me what hardware, software and bits of wire I need to connect A Sony PC1 camcorder to a Win95, pentiumII pc. I want to start capturing digital video from the camcorder, edit it then return it back to a VHS tape either directly or back via the camcorder.
This is a hobby and not (yet) a professional question!

I've got a PC1E which I got in Europe. The difference is the DV-in is enabled which it isn't on the UK version (DV-in lets you output from computer to DV cam/ VHS without losing quality). However, you can either buy a widget or get your cam enabled for about 100 pounds (I think the PC1 has a 'widget' available).
Anyway I've got a PII with 10GB and I'm using the Bravado DV2000 which comes with Prem 5.1, all for just over 500 pounds.
The results are very good and the card is easy to install.
