Sony Vegas Pro render problem

Hi. I was wondering if anyone has had render problems with vegas pro.   I have been successfully rendering video for bluray, dvd and Internet use, using vegas  pro templates, for the last few years. All of a sudden, I am getting unexplained errors which is causing a render to fail. The frustrating thing is that i successfully  rendered the file for bluray and for dvd but then found that the dvd file was slightly too big and therefore need to re render with lower settings (again something that I do frequently). Each time I run it now, it fails.

I have a high spec PC so wouldn't expect that to be the problem .......... but I am at a loss!

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Sony Vegas Pro render problem

Have you tried the Sony Forums, or google? There are a lot of people with render problems out there.

I use pro 12 and Win 10. Seems mostly ok.

Re: Sony Vegas Pro render problem

Thanks John.
I use pro 12 on windows 7 and, until now, have had no real problems either.

I always do 2 passes when rendering and it's failing on the 2nd pass.

As you suggested I've searched Google etc and lots of views and suggestions so trying some of them now and see if any work - will post findings later.

Re: Sony Vegas Pro render problem

 An update on my problem!

I chopped the project at the point it failed and rendered the remaining part separately. It too failed so again i chopped the project from the point if failed and rendered the remaining. I ended up with 4 bits, all of which rendered successfully, so no clip appeared to be corrupted but, for some reason, it wouldn't render as a whole. All the fails were within 1 long clip but there was nothing complex about the clip and no FX on it.

I thought I'd be able to drop the 4 rendered files back into vegas to rerender as 1 file but not an acceptable format. Instead, I brought them into DVD architect and set them to auto start at end of previous clip. When I watched the DVD though, you could see the short pause as it changed which wasn't acceptable for my purpose. As I had successfully rendered 1 full HD quality MP4 version of the same project, I brought that into vegas and set it to render with my fingers crossed and it worked!

I have never had these problems before and hopefully never again ........... will be rendering my next project in about 2 weeks so time will tell!
