I've been using the AV Master Card since 1996. It's been in a variety of systems mostly with expensive Intel chipsets at the advice of FAST)with a variety of graphics cards, processors and hard drive controllers. No matter what I do, I cannot get a reliable editing system with this card - it's a pile of s**t. My advice is don't waste your time or money.
Maybe try trade it in on Pinnacle's Liquid Edition Pro?
For the love of Pete, this card is almost 10 years old now! Obviously, it isn't going to meet today's standards.
It worked very well in its day -- running on the hardware of that era. I purchased one about 6 months after they released the card, and it worked nearly flawlessly.
I made quite a bit of money using it until I replaced it with a Pinnacle DC1000 card.
You really can't expect a 10-year old card to be forward-compatible with new generations of hardware.
Besides, you can buy an equivalent card today for around $50 -- so why bother with ancient technology.
I use it daily and it works lovely. If you know how to set up your system it helps!
Guy on here even has it working on xp and another guy on a very moderm intel board.
EVERYONE still comments on the quality of output!
Whats the deal with the trade in?
See: http://www.videoguys.com/images/PDF/edition5pro_tradeup.pdf for details. At least in the USA. Thile AVM is not specificallylisted, it might be accepted under the "OTHER" group. I was able to trade in a dps EditBay card. The key apperas to be that you are trading in a card that uses or can use Premiere.
Pinnacle wants to ween folks from Premiere to Liquid Edition.
