Hi Les

To change the Background scene, Right Click on the Desktop and then Select "Personalize" from the drop-down menu. Choose Background and either select one on MSoft's pictures or Select Browse to select a picture of your own.

Hope you are keeping well.

Now with a PC Specialist Quad Core i7-3770, 16GB RAM, 180GB SSD, GeForce GTX560 Ti Graphics Card, Blu-Ray & DVD R/W Burners and can't wait to set it up. Now up and running.  What a difference in Blu-Ray footage.

see if this works

open 'this pc'
view
options
open file explore >  to quick access
apply
ok

file explorer
choose home tab , top bar
cntrl-f1 to maximise ribbon , if ribbon doesn't show all the file operation icons
close file explorer

re-open file explorer , should open with the home tab allowing delete to be selected from Ribbon

Re: Windows 10 - How to :-

Thank you Harlequin. Maybe I'm doing this wrong but no further success so far.

In Live Mail; Select an email, read. Decide to delete. File menu  is already the displayed drop-down menu. Change to  HOME drop-down menu. Hit 'X' for delete. Email disappears.

Home drop-down menu immediately  reverts to File menus. .

This whole process has to be repeated from File when an email is to be deleted.

In Windows 7 the Home menu items are always displayed until changed. Not so with Windows 10.

Sorry , i misread or misunderstood your problem , i thought it was inside windows 10 , not inside live mail
will have  a look at live mail and see if i can work out that   --- I see Microsoft killed off support and updates for 'windows live mail' a while ago , might explain why it doesn't conform to windows 10 look and feel
